Lab-grown diamonds are physically, chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds. They score 10 on the Mohs scale. They pass every diamond tester. They are graded by the IGI and GIA using the same 4Cs methodology applied to earth-mined stones. The only difference is provenance: a lab diamond is grown under controlled conditions that replicate the heat and pressure of the earth’s mantle, without the environmental and ethical costs of mining.
