Bezel Setting Star Disc Cut Moissanite Promise Ring

A promise ring is a meaningful piece of jewellery that represents commitment, affection and the intention to share something special with another person. Whether you are celebrating a relationship, marking an anniversary or expressing a commitment to a future together, the Bezel Setting Star Disc Cut Moissanite Promise Ring offers a distinctive way to make that moment memorable. Designed around an unusual star disc-cut moissanite, this ring combines contemporary styling with the understated elegance of a bezel setting. The centre stone creates an interesting focal point, while the smooth gold setting gives the design a refined finish that works beautifully as a promise ring. Unlike traditional engagement ring designs that often feature prominent raised centre stones and elaborate settings, this design takes a more understated approach. The bezel setting gives it a distinctive character that feels intentional and special without tipping into traditional engagement ring territory. Individually made to order in 9ct gold, this moissanite promise ring is available in yellow, white and rose gold. Made to order in 9ct gold, from R10,995.

Promise Rings South Africa: A Meaningful Way to Celebrate Your Commitment

Promise rings have become an increasingly popular choice for couples who want to celebrate their relationship with a meaningful piece of jewellery. While engagement rings traditionally represent a formal commitment to marriage, promise rings offer greater flexibility in what they represent. A promise ring can symbolise exclusivity, loyalty, a shared commitment or the intention to build a future together. Some couples exchange promise rings early in their relationship, while others choose them to celebrate an anniversary or an important personal milestone. When shopping for promise rings in South Africa, there are several factors worth considering. The design should reflect the person wearing it, the metal should suit their preferences, and the gemstone should offer the appearance and durability expected from a piece of jewellery intended for regular wear. Moissanite is an excellent option for promise rings because of its exceptional brilliance, durability and distinctive light performance. It offers an alternative to traditional diamond jewellery while allowing you to choose a design that feels personal rather than conventional. At Moissanite Engagement Rings South Africa, our focus is on custom-made moissanite jewellery, with designs that combine considered proportions, quality materials and carefully selected gemstones.

A Distinctive Star Disc Cut Moissanite

The centrepiece of this promise ring is its unusual star disc-cut moissanite. Unlike conventional round, oval or cushion-shaped gemstones, the star disc cut offers a distinctive geometric appearance. Its unusual proportions and faceting create an interesting interaction with light, producing flashes of brilliance that give the stone its own character. This makes it an appealing choice for someone who prefers jewellery that moves away from traditional gemstone shapes. Moissanite is particularly well suited to this type of design because of its high refractive index and ability to produce impressive brilliance. It also ranks 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it a durable gemstone for everyday jewellery. The combination of an unconventional centre stone and a clean gold setting gives this ring its contemporary appearance.

The Beauty of a Bezel Set Promise Ring

The setting plays an important role in the overall appearance and practicality of a ring. This design uses a bezel setting, where a surrounding rim of gold secures the gemstone in place. Unlike traditional claw or prong settings, which hold a stone using individual metal points, a bezel setting creates a smooth outline around the gemstone. This gives the ring a more streamlined appearance and helps protect the edges of the centre stone. For someone shopping for a promise ring, this setting offers several practical advantages. Its low-profile construction helps reduce the likelihood of catching on clothing, while the surrounding gold provides additional protection for the gemstone. The bezel also complements the star disc cut particularly well. Rather than competing with the unusual shape, the metal frame defines its outline and keeps the overall design balanced.

Why Choose a Moissanite Promise Ring?

Moissanite has become a popular gemstone choice for couples looking for beautiful, durable jewellery with exceptional brilliance. Although it is sometimes compared to diamond, moissanite is a distinct gemstone with its own optical characteristics. It has a higher refractive index than diamond, which contributes to its noticeable sparkle and colourful flashes of light. Its durability also makes it suitable for rings intended for frequent wear. With a Mohs hardness rating of 9.25, moissanite is highly resistant to scratching compared with many other gemstones. Another advantage is the variety of designs available. Moissanite can be cut into different shapes and proportions, giving you more opportunities to choose a ring that reflects your personal style. Whether you prefer a classic solitaire, an elaborate halo, a modern bezel setting or an unusual gemstone cut, moissanite offers considerable design flexibility.

Bezel Setting Star Disc Cut Moissanite Promise Ring Made to Order in 9ct Yellow, White or Rose Gold

Your promise ring is individually made to order in your selected 9ct gold finish. You can choose between 9ct yellow gold, 9ct white gold and 9ct rose gold. Each option offers a different appearance, allowing you to select a finish that complements your personal jewellery collection. Yellow gold provides a traditional warm gold appearance. White gold offers a cooler, contemporary finish, while rose gold has a softer pinkish tone that gives the ring a distinctive character. Every gemstone is graded and matched for colour and clarity before setting. This is particularly important when working with multi-stone designs, where consistency helps create a balanced and uniform appearance. Because each ring is made specifically for your order, it is not taken from bulk stock. Your selected metal and ring size form part of the individual manufacturing process.

Choosing the Correct Ring Size

Getting the correct ring size is important, particularly when ordering custom-made jewellery online. Before placing your order, we recommend consulting our ring size guide. It explains how to measure your finger accurately so that you can select the most appropriate size. If you are buying a promise ring as a surprise gift, determining the correct size can be more challenging. You may be able to use an existing ring that fits the intended finger or discreetly ask for assistance from someone close to the recipient. If you are uncertain about sizing, contact us on WhatsApp before ordering. We can help you understand the sizing options and what to consider when selecting your ring.

Frequently Asked Questions About Promise Rings

What does a promise ring represent?

A promise ring represents a personal commitment between two people. It can symbolise love, loyalty, exclusivity or the intention to build a future together. Unlike an engagement ring, there are no fixed rules about when a promise ring should be given or what it must represent.

Is a promise ring the same as an engagement ring?

No. An engagement ring traditionally represents a formal intention to marry, while a promise ring represents a commitment that may take many different forms. Promise rings are often simpler and more understated in design, although there are no strict design rules.

Are moissanite promise rings suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. Moissanite has a hardness rating of 9.25 on the Mohs scale, making it a durable choice for everyday jewellery. This design also features a bezel setting, which surrounds the gemstone with metal and helps protect its edges.

What is the advantage of a bezel setting?

A bezel setting holds the gemstone within a surrounding metal frame rather than using traditional claws. This creates a smooth finish, protects the stone’s edges and reduces the likelihood of the ring catching on clothing.

Are the moissanite stones matched before setting?

Yes. Every stone is graded and matched for colour and clarity before setting. This helps maintain consistency and gives the finished ring a balanced appearance.

Can I choose the gold colour?

Yes. This promise ring is made to order in 9ct yellow gold, 9ct white gold or 9ct rose gold. You can select your preferred metal when placing your order.

How long does it take to make a custom promise ring?

Allow approximately four to six weeks from order confirmation to dispatch. Since our rings are individually made to order, they are not held in bulk stock waiting for dispatch.

Order Cancellation Policy

Custom and Bespoke Jewellery

All engagement rings, wedding rings, and custom jewellery pieces are made to order according to the client’s selected specifications.

This deposit is non-refundable.

The deposit is used to:

  • Secure precious metals and gemstones

  • Initiate design and manufacturing processes

  • Cover material costs that cannot be recovered

The deposit does not cover labour, design time, or manufacturing hours already invested.

If a client chooses to cancel a custom order after the deposit has been paid, the deposit will be retained to cover material allocation and associated losses.

Once CAD design approval has been granted and production has commenced, the order is considered final and cannot be cancelled.

In-Stock Jewellery

If you purchase a jewellery item that is available in stock and not custom-made specifically for you, cancellation is permitted before dispatch, subject to a 20% cancellation fee based on the total purchase price.

This fee covers administrative processing and associated costs.

Once the item has been dispatched or collected, standard return conditions apply as outlined below.

Returns and Refunds

This is because:

No compensation is provided for:
