Loose asscher moissanite

A gemstone shape that has received immense praise from the jewellery lovers over the time for its unique shape is the asscher cut. Greatly loved because of its fine geometrical pattern. Basically, asscher cut moissanites are like square emerald moissanites, with square geometrical shape and cropped corners. It reached the pinnacle of fame in 1920’s and so the beauty of asscher cut stones can be widely viewed in the antique jewellery designs. But due to the lack of shimmer and chunkier kind of look, its popularity ceased with time. A century later, at around 2002, the asscher cut was resurrected again with minor modifications in the cut to deliver more brilliance than the traditional asscher cut

The modern asscher cut looks like a squarely cut emerald moissanite but with a smaller table. Also, the number of parallel stepped facets is more and larger in size and the crown is cut high to emit a certain amount of dazzling effect, overall intensifying the appeal of asscher cut moissanites even more. Due to the cropped corners, an asscher shaped moissanite is safe for everyday use as the possibility of chipping or other damage of the naked corners is reduced. Four prong setting is the ideal diamond setting for asscher moissanites. The appearance of asscher cut gemstones forms a pattern of concentric squares that lends a unique and elegant look utterly different from the generic shimmer.

Created with 74 facets, the square asscher cut moissanite has generally length to width ratio of 1.00, but the length to width ratio also varies by asserting changes in the shape of the loose asscher moissanite from perfect square to slightly rectangular shapes. The length to width ratio that is less than or equal to 1.05, appears square to the naked eye otherwise tends to become rectangular.
